Correct a counted-work miscount

Find the earliest incorrect coordinate before removing a whole area. Separate an isolated misplaced stitch from a shifted section that affects neighboring motifs.

Before you start

Stop and record the last correct reference point. Support loose loops or damaged ground before removing anything, and reproduce the fault on a spare sample if possible.

Try this example

A leaf starts one column too far right. Count from its stem and a nearby border, mark the confirmed boundary, then remove only stitches whose positions depend on that error.

Check your result

• Compare the repaired area with an undamaged neighbor after relaxing or finishing the sample. Recount the boundary before continuing beyond the repair.
• A repair may remain visible. If the foundation is weak, reinforcing or replacing a section can be more reliable than hiding the surface fault.
