Before you start

Stop and record the last correct reference point. Support loose loops or damaged ground before removing anything, and reproduce the fault on a spare sample if possible.

Try this example

A row intended through both loops has three back-loop-only stitches. Mark their location, undo the later stitches on the sample and rework through both loops, recounting the row.

Check your result

  • Compare the repaired area with an undamaged neighbor after relaxing or finishing the sample. Recount the boundary before continuing beyond the repair.
  • A repair may remain visible. If the foundation is weak, reinforcing or replacing a section can be more reliable than hiding the surface fault.
