# Held-together yarn planner

> Plan label-based quantities for one or two yarns held together. Enter the working length needed by each strand, not an already combined total.

## Formula and assumptions

Each working strand needs the entered length plus allowance. For each yarn, multiply that length by its strand count, divide by label length, and round up to whole balls. Total purchased mass is the sum of each ball count × label mass. It assumes all strands run together throughout; estimate separate sections separately.

## Worked example

Example: 400 m per strand with 10% extra needs 440 m of A and 440 m of B. At 100 m / 50 g for A and 200 m / 25 g for B, plan 5 balls of A and 3 of B: 325 g purchased.

## Limits and rounding

Results are planning estimates from the values entered. Displayed decimals are rounded for craft use; whole materials and repeats round up where the method says so. Confirm gauge, material behavior, construction, and finished measurements before committing supplies.
