## Work through the example

1. Choose one consistent unit: rows, stitches or complete motifs. Time normal work, including the small actions that you expect to repeat.
2. Enter the sample units and elapsed minutes. Keep the target in the same unit; do not transfer a stitch count into a sample timed per motif.
3. Use the result to plan sessions, then time another sample once familiar with the work. Keep joining and finishing as separate tasks unless they were included in the timed unit.

Scale a timed sample into a realistic working estimate with your own allowance.

Time a representative count of the same units used for the target: stitches, rows or motifs. Include assembly separately if the sample omits it.  Avoid adding breaks twice. The central estimate and range support scheduling; they are not a deadline guarantee or an assessment of skill.

Observed minutes per unit are scaled to the target, selected complexity factor, and break allowance. The result shows a ±15% planning band for ordinary pace variation. Use comparable sample and project units; include breaks in the sample or allowance, but not both.
