## Before you start

Stop and record the last correct reference point. Support loose loops or damaged ground before removing anything, and reproduce the fault on a spare sample if possible.

## Try this example

Drop one stitch two rows on a spare stockinette sample. Use a crochet hook to lift each horizontal strand through the loop, then check the recovered stitch mount.

## Check your result

- Compare the repaired area with an undamaged neighbor after relaxing or finishing the sample. Recount the boundary before continuing beyond the repair.
- A repair may remain visible. If the foundation is weak, reinforcing or replacing a section can be more reliable than hiding the surface fault.
